 Il tempo, qui, la fa da padrone. La Recherche, in definitiva parla della vita come continuo, perenne cambiamento. E Proust lo indaga, lungo tutto il romanzo. Il tempo, il divenire, l’impossibile permanenza del presente, sono temi che da sempre hanno interrogato i filosofi. Proust (forse) non è un filosofo, ma la sua risposta a questo problema (come giustificare la possibilità del cambiamento? Cosa significa che il tempo scorre in una direzione?) è una risposta filosofica a tutti gli effetti, proprio perché è poetica. Ed è filosofica anche perché, in un certo senso, è l’espressione letteraria di una teoria a cui diede forma un grande filosofo suo contemporaneo: Henri Bergson.
