Скиния представляла собой небольшое сборное сооружение, которое накрывалось четырьмя видами покрывал. Она была сделана из различных материалов. Стены скинии, к примеру, были изготовлены из 48-ми брусьев дерева ситтим. Каждый брус был высотой 4,5 м (10 локтей: 15 футов), а шириной – 67,5 см (1,5 локтя: 2,2 фута). Все брусья были обложены золотом.
