About this listen

Ormu is both a solo artist and the bassist of the feminist punk rock band Alex born to be wild that inspires her and other women to fight for their rights, to claim their space and to set and express their boundaries. The goal: The formation of a feminist army.

The history of the suppression of the feminine sex is as old as history itself. And still, after all this time, we don`t live in equality. What are the facts and behavior patterns that suppress our gender? Where are we still disadvantaged? And how can we stand up against it? Is anger a valid and useful tool in our feminist movement? What do we really need? Why do we need the support of the male gender as much as they need our support? How could an ideal world look like, if we`dall support each other instead of holding each other down?

In this episode we talk about personal experiences, their expression in arts such as music, about responsibility or the lack of it, solidarity, the right to decide over our bodies and the chance to love them. To love ourselves – just as we are.

Ormus next show is on Saturday, 17.05.2025 at Café Köpenick, Fest für Demokratie.

Also don`t miss to ckeck out her wonderful music https://linktr.ee/ormu and to follow the band on Instagram @alexborntobewildband
