 Die Baker Zyste ist eine flüssigkeitsgefüllte Ausstülpung in der Kniekehle. Sie entsteht durch eine Schwäche der Kniegelenkskapsel und enthält Gelenkflüssigkeit, die sogenannte Synovia oder Gelenkschmiere. Meist ist die Baker Zyste eine Folge einer anderen Erkrankung des Kniegelenks, wie z.B. ein Knorpelschaden oder einem Meniskusschaden.
