 Es ist das Jahr 2007, als in den USA die Nintendo Wii die Wohnzimmer der Nation erobert. Plötzlich werden Videospiele zum interaktiven Familienspaß. Für knapp 250 Dollar gibt es Sportarten wie Bowling, Tennis oder Boxen – doch die Konsole ist fast überall ausverkauft. Als die 28-jährige Jennifer aus Kalifornien von einem Radiowettbewerb hört, bei dem man eine Wii gewinnen kann, beschließt sie, alles zu versuchen, um ihren Kindern diesen Wunsch zu erfüllen. Die Aufgabe klingt harmlos – doch am Tag, an dem sie voller Hoffnung die Radiostation betritt, bringt sie diese scheinbar harmlose Aktion in akute Lebensgefahr.
