Hi exophonic friends,

We are here again with yet another amazing guest!

Dr Gabriel García Ochoa is a Mexican-born academic and writer based in Melbourne, Australia. He teaches at Monash University, where his work explores cultural literacy, world literature, and translation. He has been a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University and is the author of the 2019 science fiction novel The Hypermarket.

Join me in my conversation with Gabriel as we discussed cultural literacy, English as birth right, cultural expectation on exophonic writers and, —surprise, surprise— imposter syndrome!

We also delved into Gabriel's first novel (linked below) and what he's writing next.
