 „Die Welt ist so klein …“. Viele von uns haben diesen Satz schon mehrmals gesagt. Was verbirgt sich hinter diesem Satz? Spannenderweise wieder mehr, als man anfänglich glauben mag. In dieser Folge gehe ich dem sogenannten Small-World-Phänomen auf den Grund und zeige, wie nah Netzwerktheorie, Mathematik und Organisationsentwicklung beieinander liegen. Die zwei Mathematiker Duncan Watts und Steven Strogatz haben sich dem Small-World-Problem angenommen und 1998 eine bis dato vorhandene Lücke in der Forschung geschlossen. Welches Modell sie entwickelt haben und was sie dabei herausgefunden haben, darum geht in dieser Folge.
