Dana hängt ganz besonders am ersten Teil des Romans und versucht dort noch mit der kindlichen Erzählerin zu begreifen, warum ihre großen Brüder sich verändern (müssen). Stefan hat die Tom Sawyer-igen Abenteuer des ersten Teils bereits hinter sich gelassen und sitzt längst beeindruckt im Gerichtssaal. Boo kommt vielleicht ein bisschen zu kurz, Atticus und seine Grundmoral aber nicht.
