Though the world often lifts up the powerful and overlooks the humble, Mary proclaims that God’s kingdom works in the opposite direction. Through her prophetic words and the wider story of Scripture, we see a God who notices the overlooked, calls the ordinary into His purposes, and ultimately honours those who walk humbly with Him. From Mary in Nazareth to William Carey the poor cobbler, and right through to believers today in small places like Geraldine, the Magnificat reminds us that in Christ, the humble are never forgotten and nothing done for Him is ever small.
