ミクログリアとは脳に入ってきた異物を除去する、そんな番人的な働きをする細胞ですが、がんに対してミクログリアがどのように立ち居ふるまうのかについては未だ分かっていません。
「がんが脳に転移した、まさにその最初に瞬間に脳内で何が起こっているのかを知りたい」
と研究を進める研究者がいます。名古屋大学の|和氣 弘明 《わけ ひろあき》さん（医学系研究科/生理学研究所 教授）と|辻 貴宏《つじ たかひろ》さん（医学系研究科 元研究員、現在米国フレッド・ハッチンソンがん研究センター Postdoctoral Fellow/JSPS 海外特別研究員）です。
