Zwischen Zukunftsträumen und Resignation ob der Gegenwart schwanken neben Tschechows Figuren heute auch Dana und Stefan. Im Versuch, den gelesenen Text im Kopf auf die Bühne zu transferieren, castet Stefan sich selbst als der (noch) optimistische Werschinin, während Dana schon von Anfang an daran verzweifelt, die Dialoge in eindeutiger Weise auszulegen. Adel, Arbeit und fehlenderAktionismus bringen im Verlauf der Folge noch stärkere Brüche. Stefan wird zum Romantiker, Dana outet sich als geheimer Fan der gemeinen Natascha. Am Ende bleibt dann nichts als die Moral.
