नॉर्वेमधील २९ वर्षांची प्रशिक्षणार्थी करत असताना बर्फाआड लपलेल्या ओढ्यात उलटी कोसळली आणि बर्फाखाली अडकली. तब्बल ८० मिनिटे ती बर्फाखाली होती आणि जवळपास ९ तास तिचं हृदय थांबलेलं होतं. मात्र तीव्र थंडीमुळे शरीरातील क्रिया अत्यंत मंदावल्या, मेंदू सुरक्षित राहिला आणि वैद्यकीय प्रयत्नांमुळे ती पूर्णपणे बरी झाली.
अॅना फक्त स्वतः वाचली नाही. तिने वैद्यकशास्त्राला सांगितलं: “मृत्यू ही रेषा कधी कधी पुढे सरकवता येते.”
