About this listen
This week’s conversation begins with our usual fun, lighthearted rambling as we get caught up on all kinds of things, but then becomes more serious as Fran elaborates on a Facebook post she wrote several weeks ago about a scary situation in our hometown. Fran shares how jail ministry gave her new perspective as the Lord continues to teach us so much about this world and all the people in it.
We hope this conversation causes each of us to consider who we are, what we believe, and what we hope for those desperately in need of Jesus. Every single one of us is broken. We all sin. Our sins aren’t the same, but sin is sin. Good works can’t save us. Religion can’t save us. Only Jesus saves. The cross is proof that our greatest need has already been met in Jesus. “We’ve all wandered off, but the Good Shepherd came looking for us.” Isaiah 53:6.
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’” John 14:6
“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whosoever believes in him will not perish, but will have everlasting life.” John 3:16
