アルゼンチン、ブラジル、ボリビアに囲まれた内陸国。面積は日本の1.1倍です。
人口はおよそ700万人。首都は「アスンシオン」で、
南米でもっとも古いスペイン人入植都市首都です。
公用語はスペイン語とグアラニー語。１年中温暖な気候です。
世界最大級の湿地帯、パンタナル湿原や、イグアスの滝などの大自然に恵まれた国です。
近年イタイプーダムという世界最大級の水力発電所での再生可能エネルギーなどが注目。
