    Oct 16 2025

Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale made a bet on moving to Houston as he started selling truckloads of furniture under a tent on I-45. He always thinks big – His book is titled “Always Think Big” – and he became the largest single-point furniture store in America by jumping up and down on mattresses and promising, “Gallery Furniture Saves You Money!”

When floods and hurricanes hit the Houston-Galveston area, Mack sent his trucks to rescue victims and he brought hundreds to live temporarily at Gallery Furniture, giving them a place to sleep and eat, and he gave them fresh clothes.

He is a true American hero, and you will love his story of how and why he bets MILLIONS OF DOLLARS on his favorite teams and refunds purchase prices when his teams win.
