第十二回に引き続き、今回は、日本の民家がどのように移り変わって来たのか、家の歴史について語りました。50年ほど前まで全国で見られた麦藁屋根の家。実は基本的な構造は、一万年前からあまり変わっていなかったかもしれません。高層マンションの玄関も、もしかしたら旧石器時代からある竪穴式住居の名残かも！？
写真は、島の麦わら家。現在はトタンを貼っているが、その下は今でも麦藁が残る。
