このつきさっぷ郷土資料館はもともと、昭和16年に旧陸軍北部軍司令官（後に第5方面軍司令官）の公邸官舎として建築されました。月寒にあったレンガ工場などのレンガも用いた重厚な造りで、つきさっぷの歴史を物語る貴重な品々が数多く展示されています！
