宮崎県のフェニックスカントリークラブで2025年11月20日～23日に開催されたダンロップフェニックストーナメント。
この現地視察をきっかけに畑さんが語る「フェニックスレポート3部作」の第2作目です。
今回のテーマは、畑さんが現地を歩きながら思い浮かべた「フェニックスで、オーガスタの美学を再現することは可能だ」という視点です。
鍵になるのは、エッジングと松葉。
一見細かな作業に思われがちですが、実はコースの印象もプレーの公平性も左右する「輪郭づくり」の要となる仕事です。
フェニックスをフェニックスらしく、そして「オーガスタ級」に魅せるためには何が必要なのか。
