All authority, truth, and life belong to the Son who came from heaven, speaks the very words of God, and holds all things in His hands. Eternal life is found only in believing Him and refusing Him leaves a person where they already stand, under judgment. The heart of true faith is not self-promotion, but joyful surrender that allows Christ alone to increase.
