إن الأفعال الخارجة عن الناموس التي نشأت من ضعفاتنا هي مجرد ذنوب. إن الأخطاء التي نقوم بها، والأخطاء التي نرتكبها بسبب عدم كمالنا، لا تعتبر خطايا جوهرية بل عيوب. على أن ﷲ يميز الخطايا عن العيوب. أولئك الذين يتجاهلون كلمته هم خطاةٌ، حتى لو كانوا بلا عيوب. و هم أشر الخطاة أمام ﷲ. لهذا السبب وبخ يسوع الفريسيين.
