About this listen
Jenn Hampton has been a fixture in the Asbury Park arts and music scene since the early 2000s, before gentrification took hold and when gritty independent locales like The Asbury Lanes and The Baronet were bastions of an authentic punk and arts scene. Jenn helped bring artists from all over the country to Asbury Park at a time when parts of the city were in ruin and the sparkle of a once-shimmering town was covered in dirt and rust.
Jenn dropped by the podcast to discuss her past work in Asbury Park and how her success in the past collided with the "new Asbury Park" and her current projects with the Wooden Walls Project and The Parlor Gallery, now a go-to fixture of at the arts on Cookman Avenue. Jenn Hampton is the founder of The Wooden Walls project, a mural and art installation and residency project in Asbury Park, as well as being the Director of Parlor Gallery on Cookman Avenue.
