«Иегова». Появляясь в Библии более 5300 раз, Иегова является наиболее часто встречающимся именем, которым Бог явил Себя человечеству. Для евреев имя Бога было столь священным, что они были крайне осторожны, называя и обращаясь к Нему по имени (Исход 3:14). Выражая глубочайшее почитание имени Иеговы, позже они приняли и стали использовать для обращения к Богу другое имя – Адонай. Значение этого слова – «Господь всего», что включает в себя: 1) Тот, Который сущий; 2) Тот, Который является Господом жизни и 3) Тот, Который всегда был, есть и будет существовать вечно.
