 Meet Elizabeth Ann, a shy and fragile little girl who lives under the care of her Aunt Frances and Great-Aunt Harriet. When Great-Aunt Harriet falls ill, Elizabeth Ann is reluctantly sent to stay with her dreaded Putney cousins in Vermont—known for their harshness and lack of understanding.
