Growing up between Japanese tradition and Australian culture, Taiyo helped turn Nagisa into one of the city’s most respected restaurants — blending authentic Japanese techniques with a modern Newcastle edge. Alongside his father Tetsuhiko, the family story stretches from farming life in regional NSW to building an award-winning restaurant empire on the Honeysuckle waterfront.
