 As I share this new collection of hymns, I feel compelled to offer a few thoughts on its purpose. This volume is not intended to be a comprehensive anthology of the finest English hymns. Instead, my primary focus has been on providing comfort for the ailing and spiritual nourishment for Christians in their private moments. I firmly believe that profound thoughts often linger in our memories as poetry, while prose may fade away. The hymns included in this collection cover a wide array of themes, specifically chosen to resonate with the hearts of all true Christians, regardless of their background. These hymns celebrate the life, death, resurrection, intercession, compassion, and promised return of Jesus Christ, as well as the varied experiences of believers—their struggles, hopes, fears, sorrows, and joys. Such hymns are eternally valuable, and I trust that this volume offers a bountiful treasure of them.
