 In Cunning Workmen, we follow Miss Cora Parkhurst, a carefree and somewhat irresponsible Sunday school teacher who struggles to connect with her young ladies. With little time to prepare her lessons and a shallow understanding of genuine Christian faith, Cora’s teaching is more chaotic than inspiring. Enter Mr. Robert Hammond, a passionate and dedicated teacher leading a group of young men. When he invites Cora to the weekly teachers meeting, he soon realizes just how much spiritual guidance and support she truly needs. Meanwhile, Cora’s fiancé, Mr. George Tracy, is less than enthusiastic about her religious commitments, viewing them as a threat to their relationship, and harbors a strong dislike for Mr. Hammond.
