 In this delightful work of fiction by Herbert Jenkins (1876-1923), we are introduced to one of his most beloved comic characters, the charming Cockney, Joseph Bindle. It is Bindle who hatches the idea of “The Night Club,” a gathering place where individuals from all walks of London life come together on Sunday evenings for a smoke, a drink, and a good yarn. Here, they socialize, reflect on their lives, and share their most entertaining tales and reminiscences.
