A poorly maintained ship, with a sketchy crew, and a compliment of pre-apartheid South Africans aboard? Sounds like the setup to a GREAT sea story.
Some notes: 1: Joe got some basic info about "The Superliners: Twilight of an Era." That came out in 1980, and featured then-new Queen Elizabeth 2, not whatever it was he said at the time.
2: If you're the one maritime historian/doctoral student/youtuber trying to learn about the collision/sinking of the Schooner Alma A. E. Holmes and the SS Belfast, Hi! How are you doing? That part is all the way at the end of the video around 2:36:30.
