Hello listeners! Welcome to the Historical Motion Picture Organisation, a podcast in which I imagine ancient history in the manner of fictional, HBO style productions.

This is the third of an eight part series about the life of King Mithridates VI, ruler of the Kingdom of Pontus, and the decades long struggle he lead against the Roman Republic.

The Poison King continues with Mithridates now firmly on the throne and aiming to expand his power and influence. But our protagonist's plans are thrown into upheaval as he gets bogged down in the ruthless, internecine fighting between the fragmented Hellenistic kingdoms of Anatolia, all the while creating some furrowed brows to the west in Rome.
