Als Spieler beschreibt sich Daniel selbst als "Raudi", der nun in seiner Rolle als Trainer großen Wert auf Menschlichkeit und Kommunikation legt. Seine größten Erfolge feierte er mit einer Mannschaft, die zwar Regionalliga spielte, aber sich von der Gemeinschaft wie in der Kreisliga anfühlte.
