About this listen

Are you building something that will last? Or is it falling apart, one choice at a time? John the Baptist didnโ€™t hold back. He called people to more than just showing upโ€”he called them to repentance that produces fruit. Real change. But repentance isnโ€™t about shame. Itโ€™s about transformation. Itโ€™s about pruning the parts of your life that donโ€™t belong and letting God build something that matters. โ€ขWhat kind of tree are you? โ€ขWhat fruit are you bearing? Itโ€™s time to ask the hard questionsโ€ฆ and step into a life that lasts. Listen to the full sermon, "What Are You Building?", and let Godโ€™s Word challenge you to grow. Listen now to watch and start building something that will truly stand the test of time. Is your life bearing fruitโ€ฆ or falling apart? Here's the Scripture passage for the message: John said to the crowds coming out to be baptized by him, โ€œYou brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath? Produce fruit in keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, โ€˜We have Abraham as our father.โ€™ For I tell you that out of these stones God can raise up children for Abraham. The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.โ€ โ€œWhat should we do then?โ€ the crowd asked. John answered, โ€œAnyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.โ€ Even tax collectors came to be baptized. โ€œTeacher,โ€ they asked, โ€œwhat should we do?โ€ โ€œDonโ€™t collect any more than you are required to,โ€ he told them. Then some soldiers asked him, โ€œAnd what should we do?โ€ He replied, โ€œDonโ€™t extort money and donโ€™t accuse people falselyโ€”be content with your pay.โ€ The people were waiting expectantly and were all wondering in their hearts if John might possibly be the Messiah. John answered them all, โ€œI baptize you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in his hand to clear his threshing floor and to gather the wheat into his barn, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.โ€ And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.
