About this listen
Rick, an aging Vietnam veteran, alcoholic, and prepper, convinces Zach Gunderson that the apocalypse is on the horizon. The two of them take refuge at a remote farm. As the zombie plague rages, they face a terrifying fight for survival. They soon learn, however, that the walking dead are not the only monsters.

Very representative of teenage boys

There wasn’t anything much wrong with the way the story was put together or narrated. But the story itself was awful.
Typically sexist/gynocentric in that the male characters die and the females are never killed. Also really weird that the start and finish of the book is the rape of a child.. literal rape but (maybe because the child is a boy?) the author never calls it that, simply “bullying” .. SMH.
A book about teens for teens, maybe written by one?! As an adult it was not enjoyable.
I do not think I will bother with the next in the series
