Publisher's Summary
What valuable company is nobody building? The next Bill Gates will not build an operating system. The next Larry Page or Sergey Brin won't make a search engine. If you are copying these guys, you aren't learning from them. It's easier to copy a model than to make something new: doing what we already know how to do takes the world from 1 to 10, adding more of something familiar.
"Every new creation goes from zero to one. This book is about how to get there. Peter Thiel has built multiple breakthrough companies, and Zero to One shows how." (Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla)
Critic Reviews
"When a risk taker writes a book, read it. In the case of Peter Thiel, read it twice. Or, to be safe, three times. This is a classic." (Nassim Nicholas Taleb, author of The Black Swan)

The book is worth spending your time on
great story and heaps of facts from co-founder of PayPal and serial investor. It gives new perspective on competition and explains why every enterprenuor need to strive to be a monopolist. start small, be superior and critical to conventional thinking.

Brief but worth it
I find Thiel's contrarian take on profound matters very interesting, and gladly purchased this audiobook. I found myself stumped when Thiel's classic interview question (won't spoil it for you) was posed. Thiel also counters the notion that competition is good, by arguing that competition encourages conformity.
Having said that, I was not impressed with the chapters in the app not being titled. Small things such as that can make quite the difference.
I highly recommend listening to this even if you have no plans to create a startup.

Insight without the lecture
I found this really interesting and easy to listen to. Not overpowering or condescending or all knowing .... insightful :)

A thought filled book,Peter Thiel is my new hero
I found this book very provoking...you need half a day and complete focus to withdraw the golden nuggets of experience that speak through the pages. Have added one more to the dream list - have a laugh with Peter Thiel ...for we all die at the end.

Unique train of thought
Very detailed information and story line with a lot of CPU required to process in any more than 30min blocks I found.

very insightful, make it mandatory at university
should be mandatory reading for college/university students. or high school to stop people waisting time and money. in the academic world I have two degrees, in the real world I have a fitter's trade and a patent. Guess which makes more money...

Made me realize I was def on the right path
I’m a denipreneur (I denied my true calling as from a child I had always believed that if I was an entrepreneurial would die like my dad did) but normal life never worked for me. I read a book like this and I know without a shadow of a doubt this is my jam. I’m in the right direction. So great to read. Thanks guys for sharing.

Important book on tech start up
Really enjoyed this book, being a deep tech founder. It needs to be thought about in amongst other books, but still great. It occasionally arrogantly points to coding based companies as pure and better than other tech. It also is very USA Silicon Valley centric. This all been said there are many fascinating ideas in the audiobook well worth mulling over.
