Publisher's Summary

Jace Stanford has lost family, friends, and his arm to the zombie apocalypse that hit his formerly quiet, American subdivision of Whispering Pines. But he has also gained new allies, a new sense of purpose, and something he never in a million years would have thought would be a plus: the cannibal savant known as Elsbeth. Now facing certain destruction from a faction known as the Consortium, Jace needs Elsbeth's help more than ever. But is she up to the task when her past is revealed? A past that is possibly more shocking than the zombie apocalypse itself? Jace may find out the hard way. And in the zombie apocalypse, the hard way usually means a whole lot of people are going to die.

Each book in the series gets better!

I listened to all three in the series. The last two in two days, I could not get enough of it! I loved it! Everything I said about the first two in my reviews here:

Still stands, except in this last instalment it gets even better!

I like zombie books simply because at times I enjoy the break from reality. I like the pure escapism offered by them. But so many in the genre seem to take themselves too seriously and create tension to the point that emotionally I have had enough. Life sucks at times enough that I don’t need to make up more ‘suckieness’… I know it isn’t a proper word, but who cares! This series is different. Every time there is tension, it is lightened by the sarcastic humour of Jace or another character! It is like watching a adult version of Itchy and Scratchy cartoon!

The only shortcoming for me was the end. Don’t worry I won’t give it away. The end does a adequate job of bring the series to a conclusion. But it doesn’t have too. It could continue. I hope it does, and if it does I would pre-purchase it!

The series started off in my top 10 went to top 5 and now is my favourite!

Still funny

Jake Bible is a talented writer. This series is as action packed as it is funny. These stories deserve a better narrator.

Again a strong story told by a great narrator

Again a strong story told by a great narrator and written by a good author but I. this one like the previous 2 audiobooks you have 1 character named Jason who telling the atory as he lives it I am sorry to say an idiot and I wonder if he a little off in the head he seems he can not stop talking to himself as a babbling fool. If there was another character who take his place the story would be much better. In this book you see how they try to start working together to start a new beginning and rebuild Ashville but as in all good stories you always have a person orca group of persons who must come in and try to destroy the good and process of other but in doing this Ashville is totally wiped and so many if the people are killed by fighting for what the want and have or by the zombies. Also you meet the sister which at one time Els was part of and trained to be killers. oh the three I really enjoyed this book and you can expect a lots of talking, fighting and killing.

great story

Great story, but the narrating needs to be set at .9 in order to come across without raising my heart rate.

Keep them coming

Nothing relaxes me more than zombie killing. Love this series and All the characters. Now it's on to the next one. Why do reviews have to be so long?

Either I'm getting used to Andrew Wehrlen's delivery or he's getting better, either way this is a hugely entertaining story and I can't wait to start the next book!!

15 year old wrote this story

Would you try another book from Jake Bible and/or Andrew B. Wehrlen?

probably not.

What could Jake Bible have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Stop using foul language for no other purpose than to add words to the book.
Jake Bible must be around 15 years old, the language was horrible and not one time in the whole book was anything resembling intelligence ever spoken

What about Andrew B. Wehrlen’s performance did you like?

The narrator was fine.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The narrator did a good job he wasn't the problem, the language of the book was comparable to that of a teen age kid who wrote a book for the first time, which is sad because the story could have been good.

Any additional comments?

I could not recommend this book to anyone not even if it were for free.

A compelling read, so addictive!

I couldn't put this book down, it was compelling and addictive, and revealed Elspeth's past, and more about Whispering Pines latest enemy, The Consortium. Desperate to start book 4! I received this book in exchange for my honest review.
