Story
Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general—also known as her tough-as-talons mother—has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you’re smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away...because dragons don’t bond to “fragile” humans. They incinerate them.

Publisher's Summary
"There are only two reasons a nonseer would see a spirit on St. Mark's Eve," Neeve said. "Either you're his true love... or you killed him."
It is freezing in the churchyard, even before the dead arrive. Every year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue herself never sees them - not until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks directly to her. His name is Gansey, and Blue soon discovers that he is a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble.
But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can't entirely explain. He has it all - family money, good looks, devoted friends - but he's looking for much more than that. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents all the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul who ranges from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher of the four, who notices many things but says very little.
For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She never thought this would be a problem. But now, as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore.
From Maggie Stiefvater, the best-selling and acclaimed author of the Shiver trilogy and The Scorpio Races, comes a spellbinding new series where the inevitability of death and the nature of love lead us to a place we've never been before.

WOW
I initially read these series years ago when they were new. The audio book was everything I could hope for and more. Will's narration complements the words so well; a perfectly magical experience!

Seriously LOVED This!!!
Such a good plot and we'll written. It made me happy to see a realistically quirky main girl. Also, I am infinity happy to see Tarot done right in media for once.

Itching for the next book in the tetrology
I loved this book. I found it extremely well written. I am hoping the other books are equally as enjoyable.
I don't normally enjoy American narrators because of their delivery/phrasing. Will Patton is a welcome exception.

Probably my FAVOURITE audio book ever
What made the experience of listening to The Raven Boys the most enjoyable?
I think there is probably a bit of a list. The story has such whimsy, lightness to it. The language and poetic way that Maggie Stiefvater, while after a while can be a little bit repetitive, I still love it.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Blue, hands down Blue. She has such an attitude, you can't help but love her
Which character – as performed by Will Patton – was your favourite?
Ronan. He's gravelly and agressive. Will Patton probably only falls down a bit on one narration, and that's Calla, but Ronan really is portrayed well as cutting and angry.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
This is a book that when I'm out of reading material, I come back to and listen to over and over. The last book for the series is about to come out and so I'm starting back at the beginning.
Any additional comments?
This is definitely a book that is improved by narration. I know that others who i've recommended this too, found that reading didn't capture them quite as much, but narration MAKES this perfect
