Publisher's Summary

Susan Beth Pfeffer's Life as We Knew It enthralled and devastated listeners with its brutal but hopeful look at an apocalyptic event - an asteroid hitting the moon, setting off a tailspin of horrific climate changes. Now this harrowing companion novel examines the same events as they unfold in New York City, revealed through the eyes of 17-year-old Puerto Rican Alex Morales. When Alex's parents disappear in the aftermath of tidal waves, he must care for his two younger sisters, even as Manhattan becomes a deadly wasteland, and food and aid dwindle.

With haunting themes of family, faith, personal change, and courage, this powerful new novel explores how a young man takes on unimaginable responsibilities.

A great instalment

I read the first book in this series from my local library and couldn’t track down the second. I used my audible free trial for this and am very happy. Keen to see how this story fits into Miranda’s in the next book.

Life must go on!

I borrowed the first book "Life as We Knew It" from my University library. I read it every chance I got and finished it two weeks. Loved it. This one is no exception. More familiarity to what's going to happen really made me wonder if it's gonna be the same this time. I kept on guessing but of course there are always unexpected events. Sadness, happiness, uncertainty, whatever it is we're facing. Humanity will survive. Because life must go on!

Sucked

Finished the other books so thought I’d have to listen to this one. I semi enjoyed them, even with their flaws…. But this book simply sucked.

I get what the author was trying to do, showing how Molly coddled the main character was and how it affected his personality, but the mark was completely missed.

None of the characters acted as you would think they would, they were all completely one dimensional which is made even more terrible by the fact we had 3 previous books of back story to go on!

Everything about this sucked, there was absolutely no redeeming qualities.
