Entertaining!

Beautifully written YA fiction. The concept of gendered noise is really clever and provides a nice commentary on our society. The price of innocence and the power of love are well exploited. The characters are well developed. The narration is beautiful, with each character distinct and memorable. I also really enjoyed the rendition of noise as a sound effect.

how do I find anything better?

It's my favourite book and now favourite performance. the voice acting is amazing! the characters were truly brought to life. it's a fast pace, intense book and I found myself listening whenever I could, all day long! don't know how I'm going to find anything that compares (besides Stephen Fry and Harry Potter)!

Heartstopping

I have read all of these books as they were released many years ago. But listening to them like this is so much better as I can see how much I skipped over in my excitement to find out what happens. What an incredible story. Part two in this brilliant trilogy is definitely full of action, drama and mystery. The narrator is amazing, really putting his heart into each of the characters. Can't wait to listen to the last one.

This one dragged on far too long…

I purchased this second book because I loved the first one, but this one was far to long winded and seemed to drag on and on. I am sure I will buy the final book, because I do want to see how this ends, but I’m not excited to start.

Aweful

Aweful. Repetitive. i really struggled to get through this story. I just dont care enough to find out what happens in next book. Narrator was pretty good but poor at female character voices.

Nothing resolved. Nothing gained. Nothing lost.

I found it remarkable how such a long book could have such little character change. While there were significant experiences endured by the main characters, by the end almost nothing at all has changed. The "good guys" are together. The "bad guys" are still there, undefeated. Again, it really feels like you could skip this whole book and you won't have missed much.
