It's Bring it On meets The Craft in this spellbinding witchy series debut.
A stolen book. A deadly plan. A destiny discovered.
If high school is all about social status, Indigo Blackwood has it made. Sure, her quirky mom owns an occult shop, and a nerd just won't stop trying to be her friend, but Indie is a popular cheerleader with a football-star boyfriend and a social circle powerful enough to ruin everyone at school. Who wouldn't want to be her?
Then a guy dies right before her eyes. And the dusty old family Bible her mom is freakishly possessive of is stolen. But when a frustratingly sexy stranger named Bishop enters Indie's world, she learns that her destiny involves a lot more than pom-poms and parties. If she doesn't get the Bible back, every witch on the planet will die. And that's seriously bad news for Indie, because according to Bishop, she's a witch, too.
Suddenly forced into a centuries-old war between witches and sorcerers, Indie is about to uncover the many dark truths about her life - and a future unlike any she ever imagined on top of the cheer pyramid.
Would you be willing to try another book from Michelle Krys? Why or why not?
Within a few chapters I was hooked & needed to know what happened next. I found it did slow a bit in the middle but then picked up again towards the end. I will definitely be getting the sequel charmed to find out what happens to the questions left opened.
Any additional comments?
Definitely aimed at the teen market. But can be enjoyed by older ages as well. My only negative was some of the words used I could never imagine any 16 yr old knowing let alone using. It was written with a lot of teen speak & then these big words thrown in there that seemed out of place.
nice story but kind of boring not sure if I'll continue on with the series
I really enjoyed this book. It was on point with the catty drama of high school, and the urban fantasy twist was so fun. I liked the twist and turns it had. I thought I had the ending figured out and assumed it was a predictable ending, but I was wrong!! The ending was a fun twist I didn't see coming. instantly downloaded the second book after I finished the first one. can't wait to see what's next!
