Juniper is really unlikeable and it’s hard to feel any emotion towards her. I also found it confusing how she’s not meant to be close friends with Athena, yet has so much history with her. If I had my time again, I wouldn’t have chose to listen to this book.

An amazing piece of work, truly. June is the epitome of an unlikable main character and it was really embarrassing to read some of her internal musings but the premise of the book is what had me hooked. I just wanted to know her next move. At times, if felt a little too fast or too slow but considering the book, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment.

Juniper is awful and learns nothing from anything and that’s such a refreshing change from the usual redemption nonsense.

There’s nothing feel good or wholesome but it’s not dark either. I laughed out loud at some of Juniper’s reflections - the complete lack of insight and how she misses the irony of her point of view. So clever.

The narration was outstanding. It can’t be easy to narrate a dislikable character.

This book explores the intricacies of friendships, loyalty, trust, boundaries, lies, truths, and the impacts of split-moment decisions and the ripple effects thereafter extremely well.

I enjoyed the story forming in what felt like a natural way and it was interesting to observe the inner dialogue of the protagonist and the many ways they talked themselves into situations and the justifications they reached for all in the name of being 'a good person'.

10/10 would read it again and I will be buying the physical copy ASAP!
