Informative and cutting edge!

Thank you for this succinct and helpful audiobook. An Audible member since the early days, I’ve bought over 700 titles and listened to most of my library several times. I’ve enjoyed countless hours of pleasure and brought many new members to this platform because I love it so much. I’m also an author. When I won the battle in 2016 to regain my rights from my original publisher, I did so with the express intention of releasing an audio version. I hired a wonderful actor to perform the novel, learning much in the process. I only wish I’d had the benefit of this small book before undertaking that project. In my works-in-progress, a multi-genre mystery series, I’m incorporating much of the wisdom you share here and look forward to learning even more about the art of creating wonderful listening experiences.

Helpful but bare

The book gave some general advice of what to do, but I would appreciate some exaples of what not to do. It tends to give the listener more concrete idea of the difference between the wrong and the right way of capturing the mood or telling a story. Also the quality of the audio is hard to get through. But it seems like a good place to start for people who are yet to be introduced to the creating of an audio piece.

Great info

Really good information, would like more. Audio is mixed and good for a home effort. More of these types of audiobooks would be great for those thinking about writing audiobooks. I learned some things about writing.

Short, but relevant and rich with possibilities

Start writing your story as a one that will be heard audibly. Exciting opportunities to use ambient background noise, the revving of an engine, inflections in dialogue. Listen.
