About this listen

Wayne Gales has received accolades as an author, chef, and in the field of resort marketing. Since 1991, Wayne has called Florida home, and he first encountered the enchanting Florida Keys during business trips to the islands. In his leisure time, he diligently examined old microfilm at the Monroe County Library, tracing a Conch family lineage that spans over ten generations. Gales relocated to Key West, where he spent several years living intermittently. During his last residence in Key West in the late nineties, he rented a houseboat, closely mirroring the plot of his debut novel, Treasure Key. Currently, Wayne resides in Melbourne, Florida, with his wife Tina. He has authored a series of twelve books, blending contemporary and historical fiction with a Key West backdrop. A passionate traveler, Wayne has explored 24 countries across five continents and all fifty states. An enthusiastic fisherman, treasure seeker, snorkeler, and former guitarist in classic rock and country genres, he has also participated in car, truck, and motorcycle races in Baja and grew up as a rodeo cowboy. Recently, Gales has also written and produced a series of illustrated children's books.
