Potentially my favourite in the series thus far! An excellent performance once again by Peter Joyce. Just when you think you've predicted what's going to happen next Raymond continuously surprises you.

Epic!

Once again I have to say how much I have enjoyed another marvellous tale of Pug, Midkamia etc from Raymond Feist. A brilliantly woven story that is gripping and so wonderfully full of action, characters of such quality that I can believe in them for good or ill or somewhere in between . I am closer to the final ending but already know I will reread these again and again. Cannot recommend highly enough. Also, perfect narration by Peter Joyce who continues to amaze me with his consistent brilliant narration of all characters.

Marvellous

Always love visiting the world that has become so familiar over so many years. I did enjoy this series but not love it. I simply felt that there was as a lack of depth. There were places where, for example, the description of a hat a character was wearing would be detailed in the extreme, and then the death of a character would be over in seconds. There was also unnecessary over use of explaining a back story from previous titles. That felt a bit lazy for mine in that it simply provided padding where more original content could have been explored. It’s a good story so don’t be fearful of wasting time and money though.

Good story…but not great

It's a bit choppy compared to the other books, but it's still a good book.

I'm in the middle of the last book, but, I can appreciate a good joke.

I've been reading these books for 10 years, and this one is probably the best in the series up until this point, and is very well narrated.

Broke my heart

I’m re-reading through all of Feist, so I can remember what’s going on in the last book, and it was around this book that I started to lose interest and get annoyed with the constant re-hashing of long dead characters. There’s nothing new here.

Copy and paste storytelling
