Parts were inaccurate or out dated.

Parts were inaccurate or out dated, no attempt was made to correct long held misconceptions that have been disproved by DNA science. Other parts were inaccurate due to obvious bias or lack of research. Other times and incidents appear to have been ignored, possibly to not offend parts of the community. I would not recommend this book.

Wow, long but worth it

It was a very long book but considering we are talking about life from the beginning to now it would be. I thought it was well narrated and very informative. It makes me consider that life is getting more complicated now that we are advancing in technology.

A good effort

Obviously a very hard ask to write the history of the world. A lot of effort has gone into the book, however, because of the breadth of the subject it lacks insight and depth.

Terrible writing, organization and pronunciation

The book is a perfect example of quantity over quality. It's a giant information dump without proper organization or depth, rambling from one topic to another. The reader's pronunciation is hard to understand because it's British/Australian (can't tell) and all names of historical people and places are completely botched. It's not entertaining and it's not informative. I do not recommend this book.

Informative if mundane at times

Sometimes the author writes with style and flare, but very often I just found myself listening to endless dates and places with no passion or presence. For me it was a good start to a long journey but don't expect a nail-biter.
