Publisher's Summary

The sequel to the number one best seller, Jimmy Barnes' unforgettable childhood memoir, Working Class Boy.

It’s a life too big and a story too extraordinary for just one book. Jimmy Barnes has lived many lives - from Glaswegian migrant kid to iconic front man, from solo superstar to proud father of his own musical clan. In this hugely anticipated sequel to his critically acclaimed best seller, Working Class Boy, Jimmy picks up the story of his life as he leaves Adelaide in the back of an old truck with a then unknown band called Cold Chisel.

A spellbinding and searingly honest reflection on success, fame and addiction, this self-penned memoir reveals how Jimmy Barnes used the fuel of childhood trauma to ignite and propel Australia’s greatest rock ’n’ roll story. But beyond the combustible merry-go-round of fame, drugs and rehab and across the Cold Chisel, solo and soul years, this is a story about how it’s never too late to try to put things right.

Inspirational!

Great listen, you actually feel like you are getting to know Jimmy and the world he rolls in.
If you have ever wondered why addicts and alcoholics do what they do or how some people can be spiritually bereft dispite being outwardly successful t hgen this is the book for you.
do not be put oiff be Jimmy filling the narrators spot at it lends the book authenticity and rest assured that Jimmy attacks the job with gusto.
He isn't as smooth as a professional actor but he was better than solid and really sounded good.
Do yourself a favour

a superb listen. Couldn't put these books down.

I thoroughly enjoyed these two books. There is so much more to his life than I was previously aware. I especially appreciated the raw honesty - it feels like Jimmy has laid it all bare.

Working CLASS legend!

If you only ‘like’ Jimmy Barnes and his music before you listen this the second book in his life’s journey, you will love and totally respect him afterwards.
Not only is he a great singer, songwriter, humanitarian and entertainer, he’s a really nice guy and a very talented writer. Listen and find out for your yourself ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not as good as book 1

not as good as first book, too much boasting about his lavish lifestyle and stupid behaviour or trying to be witty. Struggled to finish it but overall was an interesting story

Thank you Jimmy

An amazing opportunity to travel the path that an ordinary exceptional man walked - I laughed and cried with you and was amazed ( and very pleased) that you survived the journey ! Thank you for letting us into your story .
The book is inspired, well written and an excellent companion on any trip - although it was a bit embarrassing when I was listening to it on the train or at the gym and had tears rolling down my face!
Loved it - thank you

Couldn’t stop listening

A great story from a man who really cheated death so many times it’s amazing he made it through. Jimmy reading the book makes it so raw, I couldn’t imagine the emotional roller coaster to write it let alone read it for a recording. Can’t wait for another book!

frank and honest

I loved listening to Barnes tell his story. Extremely honest and frank, and raw, I never knew how much he struggled through his life but have always appreciated the soulfulness of his storytelling as a vocalist.
I especially loved hearing about the music industry in Australia with so many familiar names that have shaped the industry today. Really well done.
