Publisher's Summary

The Wheel of Time is now an original series on Prime Video, starring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine!

In Winter's Heart, the ninth novel in Robert Jordan’s #1 New York Times bestselling epic fantasy series, The Wheel of Time®, Rand al'Thor and his friends face personal trials in their quests to build alliances against the Dark One.

After locating Masema Dagar, the Prophet of the Dragon, on Rand’s behalf, Perrin Aybara returns to his encampment to discover his wife Faile has been abducted by the Shaido Aiel. Determined to reclaim her, Perrin forgoes his mission, risking his army in pursuit of a dangerous and unpredictable enemy.

Wounded and trapped in the Seanchan-occupied city of Ebou Dar, Mat Cauthon is awaiting an opportunity to leave. But he is not the only one in hiding. Three Aes Sedai are desperate to escape. As Mat seeks a way to smuggle them all out of the city, he encounters his own prophesized fate when he meets the Daughter of the Nine Moons.

Rand himself is on a mission of vengeance. He has tracked the traitorous Asha’man who tried to kill him to Far Madding. It is a city where no one is capable of channeling the One Power, leaving Rand vulnerable to those who would stop at nothing to destroy the Dragon Reborn…

Since its debut in 1990, The Wheel of Time® by Robert Jordan has captivated millions of readers around the globe with its scope, originality, and compelling characters. The last six books in series were all instant #1 New York Times bestsellers, and The Eye of the World was named one of America's best-loved novels by PBS's The Great American Read.

Good story but terrible audio book editing

While the story is just as good as the other books in this series listening to this audio book was an challenge due to the editing. The only conclusion that I can come to is that the brilliant individuals who put this out, assembled it and released it and totally skipped the "double check to make sure it is not messed up" step. Not only are there an excessive number of times that the book goes back and repeats the same section over again, it is also broken up into incredibly weird chapter lengths. This makes navigating the book a challenge at best and impossible at worst. In addition the book ends at chapter 240 but then jumps back and replays the last few chapters of the book for no understandable reason. Be prepared for some very frustrating times listening to this book and the only reason I did not return it was that the story and narrators are good making it listenable though incredibly annoying at times.

3 chapters have been cut from the book

Is there anything you would change about this book?

re-edit the book as every thirty or so minutes listening to the book, sections repeat themselves. Also chapters 32-34 aren't even in the audio book version, suddenly when listening to the book the story skips to a new section in the story without any explanation. I have already read the book before so i noticed immediately that a massive, and very important section of the story had been spiked over. after chapter 31 the story skips to 35, which is the last chapter in the story and once this chapter is complete instead of going back to listening to 32-34 the audio book just repeats chapter 35 again. I really enjoy this book in the WOT series but i can't recommend that anyone buy this book until Audible re-edits the book completely so that it is correct.

Yet again another amazing performance and story

Kate Reading and Michael Kramer continue to be the two best voice actors in the audiobook world and the story of Winter's Heart kept me entranced in a way the previous one could not. Winter's Heart is now my favourite of the past 2 imo.

Great book but lots of problems with it

There were lots of problems with the files, at first I couldn't download them and then when I finally managed it after deleting the audible app then reinstalling it and having to re download every title in my library including this one the order of the audio files were jumbled in some areas and there was a lot of repetition in some areas. I have seen some other comments on this title saying much the same thing, and wonder if amazon/ audible will actually do anything about it for future customers looking to purchase this book and if they will in anyway compensate the customers that have already bought and attempted to listen to it (I had to buy the hard copy to in order to actually understand the story)

RJ comes back to form

Highest quality in the series since book 4. Better pacing and character development. And a little hint to where Sanderson learnt his Sanderlanch finishes.

Best series just keeps getting better

Really in the heart of Wheel of Time now, and each book is as good as the last. Robert Jordan continues to write prose to make one laugh and cry, with enough humour and wit to keep the story from becoming too dark. My feelings towards some characters has changed immensely since the start of the series and I feel invested in their joys and heartbreaks. There are still five books to go and I'm already feeling that I don't want it to end.
