Dark, witty, funny and educational

Even given the subject matter, this is a breeze to listen to, partly because of the fascination of death that we all share, partly because the author/narrator. Recommended for young and old alike!

Love it

I haven't finished this book yet but I thought it was funny that I wrote the following review on From Here To Eternity, right before finding this book, and that review is even more relevant to this book: I have such a debilitating fear of death, with consuming thoughts of my own and my loved ones mortality. We buried my dog in the backyard a few months ago and I can't help but wonder what stage of decomposition he is in, and it terrifies and depresses me. This book really opened my eyes, and mind, on the whole concept of death and dead bodies. It helped me, for which I am so grateful. It's one of those ones that will stick with me for sure!

Amazing!

I love the way Caitlin narrates her books. She makes the words come alive! She’s addressed these questions in a way that would make it easy for someone young to understand but also entertaining and informative for adults to listen to.

The best person to tell you about death

Caitlin Doughty is a very charismatic woman with a lot of interesting stories, experiences and facts to tell. If you enjoy watching her YouTube videos Ask a Mortician or listen to her Podcast called Death in the Afternoon, you’ll love her books. She’s funny and someone that is not afraid to tell us the truth about death. It’s not all pretty but every chapter was a delight. Well written, great narration and overall excellent experience.

AIN for 10 years

I don’t know whether it’s me working in aged care for 10 years or just my general sense of humor and curiosity but I quite enjoyed this book and while at times I can see her frankness being a bit too much for some I really did find it good light hearted and answered some questions I’ve had myself over the years I will be back for some of her other books

Very Accessible

A quick and lively book about a subject many of us are interested in but don't ways know how to approach. Caitlin Doughty reads her own work exceptionally well. More than a hint of gallows humour about both her style and subject matter but at no time does she ever lose the obvious respect she has for either the deceased or those left behind to mourn.

Great format and narration

I found this wonderful lady on YouTube first and from her channel I found the book/s. If you watch her channel a lot of this book's content is covered in her videos, but it great to have it in this format which is much easier for walking the dog and driving! It is brilliant she narrated it her self too. Fascinating answers about those questions we adults probably wouldn't ask but are dying to know! I have learnt so much from Caitlin.

Seriously serious and funnily funny

Very entertaining and extremely educating about all those questions about death you would never dream of saying out loud. Will have you chuckling away to yourself and feeling light hearted about a subject matter that obviously wasn’t intended to be funny. Caitlin has a way of explaining things, sometimes really grotesque things in a light enough manner that doesn’t scare you but educates you about the darker sides of life, well death. Would also highly recommend her youtube series for those who have found her books enjoyable.

Fun book about death

Short and entertaining book with the usual humor of Caitlin Doughty. I was looking for something fun and easy to listen to. Maybe not everyone would end up with a book about questions of death, but my favourite mortician makes the topic interesting and fun. I just wish it was longer.

Informative fun

Beautifully narrated. The questions are childlike in their curiosity but the answer are detailed and informative. Enjoyed immensely.
