Publisher's Summary

The feminine mystic is one who gathers the pain of the world into her arms and transmutes it with "wild mercy" - a merging of fierce courage with the unstoppable forces of forgiveness, compassion, and love. And she is needed now more than ever.

"Women across cultural boundaries are rising with our echoing yes in response to the collective call to step up and repair the broken world", writes Mirabai Starr. "We are rooting ourselves in our resounding no in the face of injustice to our fellow human beings and our Mother Earth." With Wild Mercy, Starr inspires you to awaken your own inner mystic as you immerse yourself in the guidance of sages such as Teresa of Ávila, Mary Magdalene, Hildegard of Bingen, the ecstatic poet Mirabai, and the Sufi saint Rabia Basri; join with the archetypal energies of figures like Kuan Yin, Tara, Kali, Sophia, and the Shekinah; and find the light to guide your own journey of spiritual awakening and service in the world.

Poor narration

I’ve ordered this book in written form because the subject is of importance to me. This narration is being read like a novel, which the book is not. I’m so disappointed in its reading that I’d like to return it. I can’t honestly give a good star rating to “story” because I can’t get into it.

Stellar content

I find Mirabai’s style of sharing truth to be relevant and necessary. I found this book to be powerful.
I wish the narrator was more informed about the various languages and practices that she was reading about.
Likely why I prefer an author to read their own book.

Loved it!

I love this book! I listened to the sample at first and right away knew I wanted this book. I finished it in 1 day because of how much it called to me. I was present throughout - I laughed, I felt love, I cried...this book spoke to my heart and soul, and I loved it!!

Book is wonderful; the narration , not so much

This narration does not do the book justice. The narrator has no feeling or element of pause. It sounds as though she is doing a voice over for a Venus Women's Razor or FDS commercial. At moments, it sounded like she was reading a Harlequin novel that promotes a decadently creamy (and sexy?) Peanut Butter brownie.
Terrible. Awful. I tried to listen as long as I could, but it actually started to physically effect me and give me anxiety. (my Grist for the Mill?)
Zero passion and an almost insulting inflection in her voice. The book itself is incredible. I have it in paperback, and kindle form. I love this book so much that I had wanted to listen to it over and over while running errands. But sadly, the narrator ruins the sacredness of it's text. Tanya Eby is better suited for a sales pitch or junior novel reading.

Skip this

The narrator was not very good at reading this book, but that can be overlooked if the book had any content - I wasted money on the kindle and the audible since you usually save money and these types of books I like to read as well. Save yourself some money or a credit and skip this one

Feeling whole and like a true daughter of the divine as I listen to these magical chapters. Thank you. Sam
