About this listen
Chilling witchcraft and dark powers are at the centre of this supernatural thriller from Aurealis Award-winning author Kim Wilkins.
Lisa Sheehan is a struggling musician working among the smoky pits and hollows of the underground music scene. But the prospect of her band’s success is soured when their fans start turning up dead in a forest outside town. At the same time, Lisa’s sleep becomes haunted by disturbing dreams and memories that aren’t her own.
Can the murders in Lisa’s 20th century life be linked to events in the 17th century? To a web of sorcery and betrayal spanning nearly 400 years? A web of erotic obsession and an unholy pact with dark forces beyond imagining....
As a terrifying legacy is played out, Lisa must confront her greatest enemy – and her greatest love.

"Clever, sexy, witty, and very, very creepy." (Good Reading)
"An Australian writer with the power to turn those who don’t like fantasy on to the genre with her gripping storytelling." (Australian Women's Weekly)
It goes between the present & the past. Lisa is a musician who is haunted by dreams & effected by the tragic murders of some of her bands groupies. Looking further into her dreams sets off a chain reaction to discover her past & how that may come to destroy her present. Kim weaves a magical world linking the past & the present wonderfully & the slow build of magical power. Contains swearing. Great build up but found the ending a little rushed.
Emma Cary did a great job as narrator but the first time it went into the past & she change to an english accent, there seemed to be a loud exhale on the end of every sentence. A first I thought it was part of the story. Once I noticed this I couldn't stop hearing it & was a bit off putting, but this only a small thing in the greater context.
20+ years later & still love this
