Publisher's Summary

Mindfulness practice can help you reduce stress, improve performance, manage pain and increase wellbeing. These are the reasons why elite athletes, performing artists and business leaders are taking up the practice, and why it is being introduced into the world's most successful companies, banks, business schools – even the US Army.

David Michie introduces mindfulness practice and offers innovative solutions to common obstacles. Drawing on ancient Buddhist teachings and contemporary science, he also takes us beyond 'mindfulness lite', offering lucid instructions on how to experience the pristine nature of one's own consciousness directly – an encounter that is truly life-changing.

After his first 2 books, disappointing.

I really liked Buddhism for Busy People & Enlightenment to Go and will listen to them again. This book wasn't unfortunately of the same calibre.
Too much telling of what the practice can do for you rather then the practice itself.
Stick with the other books.

concise and easy to listen to

A wonderful listen and a good introductory book to mindfulness and meditation and the difference between them. Full of scientific evidence to back up the theories and coloured by personal experience, I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone looking to develop a more satisfying and healthy inner life.

Transformative

It really moved my meditation practise forward and provided a good balance of practical and theoretical information.
