Publisher's Summary

Investment industry veteran E.B. Tucker shows listeners the gold market from the inside.

This three-part book breaks gold down into must know sections:

  1. Why Gold?: History reveals an ugly pattern of governments spending tomorrow’s hard-earned savings today leaving unknowing savers holding the bag.
  2. Why Now?: Recent events foretell a dangerous future for money today.
  3. A Gold Market “How To” Manual: From bars to coins and everything in between Tucker walks listeners through the gold market in simple terms.

There’s a reason why the world’s elite count gold as a core asset. During periods of financial turmoil, it’s invaluable.

Gold is the only asset that's not someone else's liability. Apartments rely on paying tenants, stocks rely on company profits, bonds rely on stable interest payments. Gold doesn't rely on anyone or anything for its value.

Tucker guides investors in simple terms through the ways to own gold, from physical bars, to coins, and even mining stocks. He reveals his favorite method, gold royalty companies.

From a financial novice to an investment professional looking to get up to speed on the gold market, Why Gold? Why Now? is the essential guide to the world of gold.

Rubbish content

The book can be summarized in one sentence :
Buy gold !!! Rubbish reasoning , he is highly biased as owner of multiple gold companies and basically spending his life in gold.
I suggest Jim Richards new book instead , who advises 10% gold allocation .

Very interesting book, worth some reflection

An enjoyable book that does a good job of outlining the history and significance of gold. Yes this guy loves gold and is heavily invested in it but I enjoyed his approach and rational thought process. Worth listening to.

He knows his subject and tells it with insight and conviction. Impressive and thought provoking, will probably be ignored by investors everywhere seeking the new IPO wonder stock. Hoping he has the last laugh.

More than a book about Gold.

I just loved this book. It covers way more than you would expect. The history of gold. The Fed, physical Vs spot and gold shares. Gold royalties. The difference between gold and bitcoin. A future Fed Coin. Storage of Gold and even collectable coins. It was just Fantastic!

Great History, First-Hand Experience, Storytelling

The author, E. B. Tucker, explains the history of gold in the U.S. with uncanny color and clarity. Then, with that background, he gives great investment advice for the sector. This is the clearest, simplest and most entertaining gold investing & speculating handbook on the market. It's very valuable for beginning and intermediate investors who want to wade into this market without losing their shirts. His stories and first-hand experiences as a gold fund manager and board member of a precious metals royalty and streaming company underscore and add color to his narrative. At the end he lays out sensible advice on how to know when to get in and out of the gold market, and how to manage your risk. Given his board position, you'd expect he would talk his book a lot more than he does. He maintains remarkable objectivity and clarity for investors.

EYE OPENING!

Full of so much eye opening knowledge and information! Keep in mind, he has an interest in gold so he pushes that heavy but his facts are solid. Take the knowledge you learn here and figure out how to apply it to your own wealth management strategy. Definitely worth the read/listen, probably more than once!

Nice history of gold but...

Tucker gives a nice history of gold and it’s use as a store of wealth and hedge against inflation. However, he does not spend a ton of time diving into the best gold options outside of a chapter on Royalties and really doesn’t give great insight as to what first time gold buyers can do, outside of buying some gold coins, and maybe avoid collector coins. Almost feel like he is intentionally holding back the good stuff.

Required reading for anyone with money in the bank

This has valuable and insightful information into the history of Governments and Rulers and Power Holders (who are very much subject to Human Nature) in regards to manipulation of Money and Wealth as it relates to our current situation.
Anyone who has a pile of cash would do well to consider what he says.
I would have given it 5 stars but for me he dismisses Bitcoin and conflates it with Fedcoin. His research being an anecdotal conversation with someone who knows enough about Bitcoin for it to have made him a billionaire supplemented with a quick superfluous overview of the Bitcoin white paper. Bitcoin may be a subject worth looking into further if indeed there is a war on Wealth.
To be fair, I did not read this book to increase my understanding of Bitcoin but of gold, and in that regard I am more than pleased with the information and I highly recommend this book.

For beginners

Very easy to listen, the book is for the beginners, too expensive for the price. I would have expected more profound ratio analysis , more on gold futures, more macroeconomic analysis and more details on mining companies.
The book would be useful for absolute beginners in investing who have never heard about stock market.

Eye Opening

One of the best books on finance, monetary policy, and economics I have ever read simply because it takes a complex concept and makes it easy to u understand. Very well written. I heard the author on the Rich Dad Radio Show and am glad I did.

insightful author good topic but...

The book is a bit of an advertisement for his preferred investment.

I should say I don't necessarily disagree with his conclusion I just wish he provided a little more data and a little less narrative.

still it was entertaining and I think the author is being earnest.

It’s a good take on the authors experience and company background. Yet it falls short of taking into account new ways to protect wealth such as crypto.

Terrific Book!

This is certainly a riveting and eye-opening book. It gives the synopsis on the illusion of money with the attachment of an imputed value. While demonstrating how gold is intrinsic value and simultaneously the real money of the world. This book is a must read!

I was already fairly well read on the tricks of the financial system, but this book went into EXTREME and fascinating historical detail. Clear to understand and well layed out. if you don't want to be one of the billions walking the Matrix path and you fancy a glimpse down the rabbit hole then read it. Thanks so much for writing it.
